Outrage and a fearful image of Muslims.
According to a recent study by the sociologists at the University of Minnesota, it has been concluded that Muslims are the most disliked group in America. The disapprovals of Muslims has almost doubled from 26 percent in past decade to 45.5 percent recently last year.
The report found that due to increased terrorist attacks, attacks by ISIS, the fear in the minds of Americans towards the Muslims or religion of Islam has shot up. The behavior of American citizens is real of fish when you introduce yourself as a Muslim. In last 10 years, people have started developing a negative perception of Muslims.
In the middle of so much violence and terrorist attacks in the world, amid increasing focus on immigration, refugees, and national security, the study found that almost half of those people surveyed would not want their child to marry a Muslim, while this percentage was nearly 33, a decade earlier.
History- 9/11 Attacks.
The September 11 attacks or the 9/11 attacks were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks by the Islamic terrorist group Al-Qaeda on the United States on the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001(9/11). Planes were hijacked, some of them were crashed into North and South towers of World Trade Centre, within an hour and 42 minutes both 110 story towers collapsed, with debris and the resulting fires causing the partial or complete collapse of other buildings in the World Trade Centre Complex. Overall, it was the deadliest incident for firefighters and law enforcement officers in the history of United States. The destruction of World Trade Centre also caused serious impact on global markets closing Wall Street until September 17. The death toll was very high as around 3000 people were killed and more than 6000 were injured. It was the deadliest terror attack in World History.
Increasing violence and terrorist attack: a cause of despair.
One of the researchers said that 2016 was one of the worst years as it involved increasing number of physical assaults, vandalism, and controversies which spoiled the relations between Americans and Muslim group. The Sikh-Americans, who are confused as Muslim Americans would also sometimes face the trouble and hate. The report indicates that even generally tolerant millennials exhibit relatively strong Anti-Muslim sentiments.
In 2016, more than 60 cases were reported of anti-mosque attacks which were sinister. The worst cases of them reporting someone throwing stones from a window of a mosque in New Hampshire, a driver of a tractor being stabbed twice into a mosque in Maryland and a man settling a mosque to fire in Florida.
All these incidents of violation created a sort of fear in the minds of citizens and lead to the disturbed routine life. The innocent, sophisticated and the matured Muslim people were also in bad books of Americans and slowly and steadily the hate for Muslims began rising.
Another incident in Georgia was some Newtown Country officials changed their decision to ban the building of a mosque on a small cemetery land purchased by the Muslim community, considering the concerns of local residents that the land would be turned into an “ISIS training camp”. Many Americans rate Muslims as proto-human primates.
Anti-Muslim sentiments and political scenario.
Donald Trump validates some dangerous Anti-Muslim thoughts and ideologies, but he did not invent it, he just says more bluntly and without fear what his less compelling peers are already thinking. For them, for him and for the majority of Americans, Islam is considered as a dominant ideology and all Muslims are actually or potentially terrorists and the younger generation of them are trained to be that and is taught all the violence, inhumane activities etc. During Trump’s days of campaigning, he emphasized on not allowing Muslim immigrants in America, in 2015 he once said that he may look at an idea to close the mosques in the US as most of the hatred and ideas come from there. After Trump became the President, he signed an executive order blocking Syrian refugees and banning citizens of seven predominantly Muslim Countries from entering the United States for 90 days. As recent as in February 2017, he also issued a travel ban for citizens from six majority-Muslim Countries.
A Vote to threaten Muslim.
Year after Year Americans votes for politicians who continue policies that inflict greater harm on many Muslim societies and their people. In effect many Americans hate Muslims. They hate their freedom, which is why over and over again, they prefer to install dictators and snatch away their democracy.
